Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Flexible School, Alice Springs.
I warmly welcome you to our school community, here on Arrernte Country in Alice Springs. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this land and pay our respects to Elders past and present, and to the young people who are the future of this place. St Joseph’s is part of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), a network of schools grounded in the Catholic tradition and inspired by the spirit of Edmund Rice.
At St Joseph’s, we walk alongside young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream schooling. Our approach is flexible and centred on strong, respectful relationships. We take the time to listen, to understand each young person’s story, and to support them in ways that honour who they are, where they come from, and where they want to go.
Since opening in 2012, our school has grown into a place of safety, belonging and connection. Our staff are deeply committed to creating a calm and supportive environment where every young person is known, valued and respected. We recognise the importance of culture, identity and community, and we work closely with families and local networks to support each young person’s journey.
St Joseph’s is a place where young people can connect—with learning, with culture, and with themselves. We aim to build confidence, resilience and a sense of purpose, so that each young person can move forward in their own way and in their own time.
Our spaces reflect this way of working. Our yarning circle, art and workshop areas, woodwork space and gym are all places where relationships are strengthened, stories are shared, and learning happens in many different ways.
We are committed to walking alongside our young people and their families, with respect, care and hope. We look forward to working together as part of this community.
I invite you to explore our website and learn more about St Joseph’s and the work we do here.
